Journey with purpose.

Akani Travel is a cross-cultural travel brand for young women who want to make a real impact on the world when they grow up. Through our carefully curated programmes, we foster the growth of lifelong connections and develop the skills and values these young women need to become future leaders and change-makers.

ways to work with us

Our unique itineraries dive into South Africa’s cultural and natural heritage, from discovering the wonders of a Big Five safari to learning about local, women-led community and conservation initiatives.

Akani brings together girls from seemingly disparate backgrounds and challenges them to learn about each other, themselves and the world around them in a safe, engaging and impactful way.

What makes us tick

Akani’s purpose is grounded in the belief that if we empower girls when they are young - through community and education, no matter their background - they have the power to truly change the world for the better.
